Design Purposes
Cabina OS is a lightweight Linux operating system built specifically for digital preservation and archive management. Rather than functioning as a general-purpose desktop system, it is purpose-built to support the core workflows archivists rely on organizing, describing, and managing digital collections in a focused, uncluttered environment.
The system comes pre-installed with Omeka, a comprehensive application designed specifically for archivists to streamline metadata processing and archival workflows, so users can begin working with their collections without additional setup.
